I am auditioning for a speech competition under the prose category.
I need a block of text from a movie or book that takes 3-5 minutes to act out(cannot be poetry, cannot come from a play)
If anyone has any suggestions for Bible sections, that would be fine too.

A block of test from a movie, (also very interesting content about views on the media and manipulated world) try the movie ‘The Network’.

I like the Lapine myth of the creation of the world, The Story of the Blessing of El-Ahrairah, chapter 6 of the book Watership Down.
Or, for something completely different, Bluto’s It’s Over?!? speech from Animal House. You’ll have to edit a couple of words, but I bet no one else thinks of it.
Act out the scene where thelma and louise drove off the cliff
something from the twilight saga.

Okay…these are from Dumbledore in the Harry Potter series:

You fail to recognize that it matters not what someone is born, but what they grow to be.
–yet, sadly, accidental rudeness occurs alarmingly often. Best to say nothing at all, my dear man.
Time is making fools of us again.
It’s the unknown we fear when we look upon death and darkness, nothing more.
It is important to fight, and fight again, and keep fighting, for only then can evil be kept at bay, though never quite eradicated.
There are all kinds of courage. It takes a great deal of courage to stand up to our enemies, but just as much to stand up to our friends.
